PCDC Awarded RBEG Grant for Entrepreneurial Program

CRANDON, WI, November 13, 2008 – Potawatomi Community Development Corporation (PCDC) received notification from the USDA Rural Business Enterprise Grant (RBEG) of their intention to award a $44,100 grant to support PCDC’s Entrepreneurial Internship program.


The Potawatomi Community Development Corporation was created in 2007 to provide services that would offer tribal members as well as non-tribal members the opportunity to explore entrepreneurial opportunities. The Entrepreneurial Internship was designed to assist community members transform their business ideas into sound business plans. Through this grant, PCDC will have the resources – financial, academic, or legal – to help these individuals develop, establish and maintain successful businesses.  Ultimately, the goal of the project is to reinforce the economic leadership of the Forest County Potawatomi and their efforts to build a strong local economy through job and business creation.

PCDC’s Chief Executive Officer, James Crawford, said “This grant will have a tremendous impact on the capacity of PCDC in assisting existing and hopeful new business owners. The creation of this Internship program will allow tribal members and residents the access to one-on-one assistance to help make their businesses more profitable.”
