In July 2006, Potawatomi Business Development Corporation partnered with Ho-Chunk, Inc., the economic development corporation for the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska to launch HCI Logistics. An Omaha, Nebraska-based company, HCI Logistics is a transportation brokerage service connecting motor freight carriers with other companies requiring transportation of merchandise and raw materials throughout the country. Ho-Chunk's subsidiary HCI Distribution already had much of the infrastructure and knowledge in place to establish HCI Logistics and it was a natural fit to establish this new venture. Company manager Scott Grate has 13 years experience in the brokerage industry and coupled with Ho-Chunk's resources, the company sees a great deal of potential in its future.
